When I started out as a youth group leader just a couple of years ago, I was so excited to have an impact on the kids lives and I was full of great ideas of things that we could do.  Some people thought I was a little to gung-ho, but I was truly excited as it was my first chance to really make a difference in someone’s life.

But now, just a couple of years later, that excitement has worn off.  Don’t get me wrong, I still love what I do, but I have run out of ideas as to the types of activities that we can do.  Without fresh youth group ideas, I am very worried that the attendance will drop, and people might start missing the meetings altogether.

I expressed my concerns to our pastor in hope of getting a fresh perspective, and he was able to give me some good suggestions on new things that we could be doing.  I am also going to be attending a workshop for youth leaders to learn of some other things that I can do to ensure our group stays fresh and active.

I just hope that I will be able to continue to provide great leadership to these kids under my supervision – if I can’t, I just don’t know what I will do.
