Happy with my Hearing Aids

One of the biggest mistakes that I made in my life resulted in the loss of most of my hearing in my right ear.  I really didn’t realize how much I depended on both ears hearing well, but it was quite a shock when all of a sudden it became quiet on my right side.

Now, the reason that I lost my hearing was because I made a bad decision.  You see, I was making some macaroni and cheese on the stove, but I turned on the wrong burner.  As it turns out, the burner that I did turn on had a glass bottle on it and it was very hot.  Instead of leaving the bottle on the burner, I decided to move it.

Big mistake.

Since the bottle was so hot, when it cooled down rapidly after being moved off the burner, it exploded.  There was glass everywhere in the apartment, and except for the glass in my hand, I was not hurt.

But the result of this experience was the loss of hearing in my right ear (which was facing the blast).  I thought I would be able to live with no hearing in my right ear, but I finally broke down and bought a Phonak hearing aid.  It was the best decision I could have made, and I love the fact that I can hear again.
