An Ouch Saved

I was so nervous about getting my wisdom teeth pulled until I found out my friend Kelli recently had her wisdom teeth removed and she said it was painless.  She told me about the Bethesda sedation dentistry office she used in our town.  She also said that not all Washington DC dental services offer the same standards and not all insurance companies cover all the costs.  They put her to sleep with the protected use of an anesthesiologist monitoring all safety measures, and her insurance only covered part of that! A dentist DC or Bethesda would agree that having a licensed anesthesiologist presents the ideal circumstances in a successful visit.

I took her advice, did my research, and guess what…I  did it!  First, however, I checked my insurance coverage and found that I was completely covered; great news but then again, I have a great insurance company.  I still felt nervous the day of pulling them out but now that it is over I am so relieved.  It was simple.  I’ve seen some of my friends who come back from removing their wisdom teeth and they look like some kind of animated Disney chipmunk with puffy cheeks and a swollen jaw.  I don’t know why that happens but it didn’t happen to me!  It feels pretty weird to have empty holes in the back of mouth but I am just happy to have one less spot to brush and floss. And I’m thrilled it was so little out of pocket!
