Training for my New Job in the Hearing Department
Posted by insreview on 07/19/09 in Careers
When I lost my job back in November of last year, I was scared. It was the first time that I didn’t have a job since I was sixteen, and the prospect of not having a steady stream of income coming in scared me. I did feel a little more secure since I did have savings set aside, but they weren’t going to be enough to last very long.
But I took the opportunity to go back to school and upgrade my skills and training. I decided to become a hearing specialist so that I could help people with hearing problems and sell hearing aids. I figured since I had been working in a seniors home, that the skills that I learned there would be helpful in my new career.
After I had finished my course, it took me awhile to find a job where I could use my new training, but I was finally able to find a job at a hearing center in town. I just have one more week of training left and then I will be able to be a productive member of society again. I love helping people, and I can’t wait to be in a position to do that again.

You did a very wise thing.. you used your time well! I would really suggest that everyone who has lost their job should take this opportunity of having some free time to invest in their career and get some more training in your field. There are many training options like online training.
